About Me

My name is Diana du Preez, I’m a registered counsellor at CCSA

I have recently opened a unique and highly beneficial counselling service in Lephalale, Limpopo Province.I firmly believe in an authentic and personal contribution between client and counsellor.  I provide a private, non-judgemental environment to my clients to communicate and express their emotions, experiences and difficulties in order to facilitate growth.

Counselling is a unique process of self-development and change and is frequently seen as a response to immediate problems or difficulties.  I believe that we have unexplored strengths within us and that we are all capable of incredible growth.Counselling helps us to discover within ourselves these strengths and competencies we need to overcome our challenges.

Counselling therapy includes exploring your feelings, view and behaviour to assess the impact this has on your life. The goal of counselling is to enable you to ease the hardship you experience and to enhance the quality of the relationship you have with others and yourself.

To present you more information about myself, my education background includes a Diploma in counselling from the Blackford Centre for Counselling. A certificate of Achievement form ABC awards and I was recently approved as a registered counsellor at CCSA; Council for Counsellors in South Africa.  Prior to opening a private counselling service, I worked voluntarily in the counselling field since 2010.  Working as a volunteer counsellor I gained valuable hands-on experience in life’s challenges people encounter.

My main focus areas include (but not limited to): Relationship Difficulties, Marital and Pre-marital counselling, Youth counselling, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and loss, Anger Management, Divorce counselling and adjustment, Emotional Intelligence, self-esteem and personal challenges.

How can counselling help?

Counselling aims to help you deal with difficulties that are causing you emotional pain or make you feel uncomfortable. The way counselling can help will depend on the person receiving the treatment.  Counselling offers a safe and confidential environment for you to talk and explore difficult feelings.

In life, what we say to others can sometimes have an altering effect on relationships and the manner in which people perceive each other.

Counselling consist of talking about difficult or painful feelings and experiences as you begin to face them. It can help you understand yourself better and the way you think, which will in the end help you develop a clearer understanding of your problems.

A steady commitment is essential to make the best use of the counselling.

What is Counselling?

Counselling is a type of talk therapy that allows a person to talk about their difficulties and feelings in a confidential and safe environment. It is also an effective way to facilitate and encourage positive growth and teach clients healthy coping mechanisms to address any concerns they might have.

A counsellor is a trained professional that assist a client to rationalize and examine their thoughts, feelings and actions so that they can gain increased personal insight, self-confidence and the ability to make informed decisions to address their concerns.
